Country Singer Naomi Judd Dead At 76
HOLLYWOOD NEWS...Grammy Award-Winning Country Singer of the Judds duo Naomi Judd died Saturday at 76. She was part of the mother-daughter duo The Judds. The cause of death is unknown.
Naomi's Husband Larry Strickland, also a singer who backed up Elvis Presley in the 1970's in the group JD Sumner and The Stamps through a prepared statement stated only that Naomi died near Nashville. Strickland added no further details regarding his wife's death would be released and asked for privacy for the family.
The Judds were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame on Sunday. The Judds had 14 #1 hits, and 20 top ten hits in their three decade run. The Judds scored five Grammys, nine CMA Awards, and seven Academy Of Country Music Awards. The Judds were Music City legends after their arrival in Nashville in 1979. Naomi Judd will be greatly missed by country music fans.
